The Google DeepMind AI Masters Scholarships 2025 are part of a strategic partnership between CinfonIA and Google DeepMind, aimed at making Artificial Intelligence more accessible to the next generation. This collaboration positions Universidad de los Andes among a select group of prestigious academic institutions associated with Google DeepMind, a global leader in AI. The scholarships are designed to support talented students from underrepresented backgrounds and those with limited financial resources, enabling them to pursue postgraduate studies and careers in Artificial Intelligence.

Masters: Each Google DeepMind Scholar 2025 will receive full financial support for the academic period from 2025-2 to 2026-1 to pursue a master’s degree in an AI-related field, with the possibility of extending the scholarship for the academic period of 2026-2 to 2027-1. The scholarship covers tuition, a stipend to cover housing and living costs, academic travel and equipment expenses, incurred during the scholarship period. Additionally, each scholar will be paired with a mentor from Google DeepMind, offering valuable insights and professional guidance.

Requirements

The DeepMind Scholars 2025 will be selected strictly for academic excellence and research experience in Artificial Intelligence. Candidates must self-identify as members of one or more of the following communities:

• Latin Americans in Artificial Intelligence
• Women in Artificial Intelligence
• Ethnic minorities in Artificial Intelligence
• Low-income communities in Artificial Intelligence

Applicants must also be admitted to start in 2025-1 or 2025-2 one of the Master’s Programs of the School of Engineering at Universidad de Los Andes with emphasis on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence listed below:

• MSc in Systems and Computing Engineering
• MSc in Biomedical Engineering
• MSc in Electronic and Computer Engineering

In the meantime, prospective candidates are encouraged to begin their application to the MSc program of their choice. Through the DeepMind Scholarships 2021 program, the company funded three talented students from underrepresented backgrounds to study in a Master of Engineering program with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence at the Universidad de Los Andes.  With the goal of promoting diversity and academic excellence in AI, DeepMind has extended its partnership with CINFONIA until 2022 because of the success brought by the 2021 scholarships.

Manuel Ríos, a DeepMind 2021 scholar states that the idea of working with DeepMind, one of the world leaders in AI, is something that already excites him. “It’s a dream come true,” says the scholar. “I could not be more comfortable with the program, as I am sure that I will not only receive an excellent education, but also I will have the opportunity to be part of excellent research groups where I hope to be able to work on challenging and innovative projects that have a great social and academic impact”, affirms Manuel. The DeepMind 2022 scholars will need to demonstrate academic excellence and experience in AI research, they must be accepted in a Master’s program at Universidad de Los Andes with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence certified by CINFONIA, and they must belong to a community underrepresented in this field (Latin Americans, women, ethnic minorities and/or low-income population). For two years the scholarship will pay not only for academic costs but also for conference travel (or remote conference participation) and equipment. Scholars will be able to attend educational events and important conferences on Artificial Intelligence and will have the support of a DeepMind mentor to develop their confidence and pursue their goals.
